During dental school, some of the professors would mention that the way to keep up with our profession was to “invest in yourself” after graduation.
Up until a few years ago, I thought that investing in yourself meant attending the continuing education meetings required by our state board of dentistry.
I do feel this is important whether or not it’s required but it wasn’t until after I started this blog that I began to really understand that investing in yourself meant so much more than I originally thought.

Personally the best way you can invest in yourself is something you can easily do on a daily basis: read books or listen to podcasts (or both!)
One other media type that I’ve started to enjoy more of is via YouTube.

During this daily education process, you can:
- improve at what you already do (career, job, etc)
- learn a new skill
- improve your health
- grow your network
The main thing is that you’re focused on becoming better at what interests YOU and not other people.
Personally I’m interested in replacing my active income with passive income so I can focus on growing a real estate business.
This is MY interest but it may not be yours. That’s OK as I’m doing what brings me joy. And so should you.
